Industrial Relations Officer urgently required for an Engineering Company in Hammanskraal, Pretoria. To start ASAP.
Purpose of position: The responsibility of Industrial Relations Officer to promote effective organizational practices among employees and the employer.
To provide advice, consult and facilitate on IR structures and procedures
Manage the implementation and application of disciplinary and grievance policies and procedures
Maintain all labour related policies and procedures
Develop and administer policies on different wage structures and related matters
Maintain good relationships between employers and employees
Represent the company at the CCMA and the Bargaining Council on external disputes
Develop and conduct IR training
Provide administrative support to the HR Department on all HR related matters, which includes dealing with Wage queries, generating and submitting document to Payroll for processing etc.
Will form part of a number of forums within the Company such as the EE Committee and the Union and Management forum
Maintain records related to Wage employees
Relevant tertiary Labour Relations (IR) qualification or equivalent
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in handling Industrial Relations/Labour Relations matters in South African unionized environment
Sound knowledge of SA legislation including the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity act and Skills Development Act, Bargaining Council Main Agreement
Knowledge and experience in other HR Generalist activities would be an advantage
Strong organizational and communication skills
Good conflict resolution skills
Ability to influence and negotiate
Strong interpersonal skills (ability to work effectively across functions)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Meticulous Record Keeping
Driver’s license is essential and must be flexible to travel when required
What Qualification: Industrial Relations
Minimum Qualification: Diploma or NQF 6 equivalent related qualification
